  • Glycolic Acid

A naturally occurring substance, glycolic acid is the smallest alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived primarily from sugar cane. Due to its small size, it can penetrate the skin more easily than other AHAs.

Its exfoliating capabilities not only remove the skin's dead cells but also enhance its receptiveness to subsequent treatments. As a result, serums can penetrate more deeply and work more effectively. When integrated into the Illumine Peel Lotion, glycolic acid elevates the product's performance, offering profound exfoliation that leads to a smoother texture and a vibrant complexion.

  • Lactic Acid

Derived from a naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) found primarily in milk, lactic acid has carved a niche in skin care due to its gentle exfoliating properties. Unlike some other acids, lactic acid provides a milder peeling effect, making it particularly beneficial for sensitive skin types. In the Illumine Peel Lotion, lactic acid assists in gently sloughing away dead skin cells and promoting a fresher and more radiant complexion. Additionally, its unique hydrating properties help to retain moisture, ensuring skin doesn't feel stripped or overly dry post-treatment.

  • Kojic Acid

A by-product of various eastern plants like rice and soy, Kojic acid is renowned for its impeccable skin-brightening capabilities. Its primary function is to inhibit the production of melanin, which is responsible for skin pigmentation. In the Illumine Peel Lotion, Kojic acid plays a pivotal role in addressing skin discolouration providing a clearer, more even-toned complexion. Its antioxidant properties also help defend against environmental aggressors and the harmful effects of free radicals, leaving the skin with a luminous glow.

FAQs

Is the Illumine Peel Lotion suitable for all Skin Types?

The Illumine Peel Lotion is formulated to provide brightening and hydrating benefits, making it suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin. However, we recommend a Salicylic acid-based toner for oily skin which helps to clarify and balance the skin.

Is the Illumine Peel Lotion the same as the Revival Enzyme Pads?

The Illumine Peel Lotion formulation is improved and better than the Enzyme Pad Solution.

What was the reason for the change in formulation ?

Our old Derma Enzyme Pads were our all time best selling product with salons and clinics, however we have devised a more cost effective solution. The 30 enzyme pads are equivalent to 30 uses when compared to the Illumine Peel Lotion which gives 200 uses. We also increased the percentage of the Peel Lotion from 7% to 15% in  the Illumine Peel Lotion and added brightening acids.

Will my skin peel after use?

No, there is no peeling or skin reactions experienced with the Chemical Peels. There suitable to use on any skin type and in all climates.

Can I use this before a Chemical Peel as a prep lotion?

Really depends on your peel choice. This can be used with our Revival peels as we do not need to lower the PH of the skin prior to these peels, however you should not use this before other peels that need to lower the skin’s PH in order to work.

Will this get rid of my pigmentation?

No, whilst the darker tone skin will appear brighter and more healthy, there will be no change to the pigmentation as this requires the product to work deeper into the skin to tackle the damaged melanin cells.
