Course Overview

This Level 6 Award in mesotherapy is suitable for students that have completed their CPD Level 5 and Ofqual Level 4 Diploma in Aesthetic treatments and are looking to upgrade their CPD Mesotherapy to an Ofqual regulated qualification in preparation for Ofqual Level 7. The course has 1 theory mandatory units and 3 practical units, skin needling, chemical peeling and dermaplaning as optional units.

For those who have previously completed the CPD Level 5 Diploma, you will focus on gaining theoretical knowledge required to sit your ITEC theory exams, learn step by step practical assessments protocols under the guidance of our skilled assessors, who will also guide you to compile an ITEC specified portfolio of evidence.

Our curriculum is designed to help you build an extensive portfolio of completed assignments, case studies and prepare you for the 2 theory exams in each unit and the final end point examination with the VTCT /ITEC examiner.

This unit provides a comprehensive overview of mesotherapy, focusing on the protocols for product and equipment use, safety measures, and best practices. You will learn how to properly adhere to supplier and manufacturer guidelines for the safe handling, storage, and utilisation of mesotherapy products and equipment. These include detailed instructions on the correct use for intended purposes, risk assessments, regular maintenance, and sanitation procedures.

Critically analyse accepted protocols and guidelines for providing mesotherapy techniques

You will learn how to plan and carry out mesotherapy treatments, and in-depth client assessments of their medical history, goals, and expectations. Be able to carry out a detailed skin analysis, identify contraindications and when to make referrals. This unit also focuses on pre and post-treatment protocols, including advice on treatment intervals and lifestyle adjustments, to enhance treatment outcomes and client satisfaction.

Critically analyse the uses, limitations, benefits and effects of mesotherapy equipment, products and techniques.

This unit teaches a thorough overview of mesotherapy techniques, highlighting its effectiveness in addressing skin aging and other dermatological issues. You will learn both needle and no-needle techniques, understand the associated risks and complications, and study the health and safety protocols essential for injections. The course also delves into customising mesotherapy serums to cater to various skin concerns, ensuring a personalised treatment approach. Through practical and theoretical training, you'll gain the competence to safely and effectively apply mesotherapy treatments, tailoring them to meet individual client needs.

Formulate consultation, planning and preparation protocols for mesotherapy techniques

And demonstrate proficiency in application of mesotherapy techniques.

Unit L04 of this course focuses on consultation techniques essential for establishing a tailored mesotherapy treatment plan. You will learn how to consult with clients, assess the condition of their skin and select the appropriate mesotherapy serums and injection techniques with either the no-needle or needle techniques, ensuring health and safety during application.

Unit L05 builds on this foundation by teaching students how to create and use specific mesotherapy product cocktails tailored to address individual client skin concerns. This unit teaches the underpinning knowledge on mesotherapy serums to tailor them to the client-specific skin concern.

Learners are required to hold an Ofqual regulated Level 5 needling or

Level 4 in Needling and CPD mesotherapy qualification or equivalent.

Structure of the Course

DAY 1

Preparation / Induction

The course begins with an induction Powerpoint presentation that will guide you and give you insights into the ITEC assessment criteria and Revival academy processes throughout the course. You will be handed a scheme of work that has a schedule of work, from online learning theory learning, to assignment writing and watching practical assessment videos to prepare for your exams.

The induction will also give you a demo and training in how to carry out assessments to meet the ITEC exam specifications whether you are already trained or are a beginner to mesotherapy.

DAY 2

Case Studies Assessments

The session begins with a PowerPoint presentation that provides a comprehensive overview of mesotherapy protocols, ensuring you have a solid understanding of them, for the assessments. This will be followed by a live demonstration led by the tutor, showcasing both the no-needle and injection methods of mesotherapy. In the afternoon, you'll engage in a practical case study that adheres to strict ITEC assessment guidelines. This initial case study sets the foundation for the additional four you will complete over the next two days.

Day 3

Case Studies Assessments

You will conclude your training by completing the final case studies and assembling a comprehensive portfolio of evidence. Following this, you will take your theory exams to demonstrate your understanding of the material covered. Once you achieve the required competency level, you will be scheduled for a final assessment conducted by an ITEC examiner. This approach not only prepares you for the EQA visit but compiles the evidence of all case studies you will have undertaken, ready for certification
