LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN AESTHETICS

The CPD Level 5 Diploma in Aesthetics gives a quick entry into the Aesthetic Industry, if you are a newcomer. The course teaches Chemical Peels, Micro-needling, HydraDerm Facials and Mesotherapy and  is designed to teach the foundational skin anatomy, medical protocols and  risks and complications management and prepare you for injectable treatments such as  PRP, Anti-wrinkle treatments and Dermal fillers. After completion of the CPD Level 5 course you will be able to obtain insurance to work within the aesthetic industry and carry out the treatments you have trained in. We recommend that in time you  progress to Ofqual regulated courses before the imminent legislation changes take effect.

Course Overview

Our Induction PowerPoint presentation is designed to equip you with the necessary knowledge for your online study and completing assignments remotely. The subsequent practical training takes place in a classroom setting, providing you with hands-on assessing experience on our students. This training involves not only preparing students for their summative assessments but also devising the sampling plan for the Internal Verifier. You will conduct assessments on our students while being closely observed by our Internal Verifier, ensuring the quality and fairness of the assessment process. As a part of the VTCT requirements, you will compile a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates your proficiency before successful completion of the course

Understanding the principles and practices of assessment:

You learn about the significance of assessment in the learning process and explore various assessment methods, including formative, summative, diagnostic, and self-assessment. The course covers training in how to carry out assessments that are valid, reliable, fair and carried out according to the learning outcomes. Additionally, the unit teaches you how to practically set the students for assessments, give feedback, plan them and complete the necessary assessment paperwork. 

Assess occupational competence in the work environment:

In this unit, you'll gain in-depth insights into the complexities of the assessment process that teaches the use of diverse, fair, objective, and constructive assessment methods. Through practical, hands-on training within our VTCT class’s, you'll have the unique opportunity to apply these skills on real-life students, whom you will assess, give feedback and action plan. You will also learn how to do the sampling plan for an EQA visit and prepare an agenda, which will prepare you with skills to lead and assessment day. 

Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding:

This unit offers comprehensive training in the methods and approaches necessary for evaluating student portfolios and and marking their practical assessments inline with VTCT assessment criteria. You will learn how to carry out assessments that are fair, objective and constructive, give feedback to the students and write the assessor reports. There are 2 assessments in this unit which you will need to carry out under observation with our IQA.

Structure of the Course

Day 1Induction, Presentation

The course commences with an informative theory presentation that delves into the learning outcomes related to conducting summative and diagnostic assessments. This training effectively identifies the pivotal role of the assessor within the center, outlining the assessment process for students. Furthermore, it teaches the assessor's responsibilities not only to the learners but also to the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) and External Quality Assurer (EQA). The day finishes with a summative assessment demo by our assessor.

Day 2 Assessor Training 

After the initial induction day, you will embark on a period of remote study, of learning the foundational knowledge on all the units necessary to successfully complete the online assignments. During this phase, you are expected to compile a comprehensive portfolio of evidence, which should be completed and submitted. Additionally, as part of your practical training, you will conduct two formative assessments where you will assess one of our classes under the guidance  of our Assessor and give feedback and action plan to the students.

Assessments

When you are competent in your formative assessments, your assessor will book you to come and carry out your summative assessments and do a sampling plan for your class for our Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) and ensure that the clients are booked for the students according to the assessment requirements. Your next steps are to compile a portfolio of evidence of your two competent  assessments, with feedback from your IQA and assessor and complete the assessment paperwork, all of which will lead to certifying you..
